    How this list is ordered

Most forgiving published rules: the highest rules score out of 30. A rule the firm doesn't publish scores nothing.

For a first evaluation, the rules can matter as much as the price: a drawdown that trails your open profit, a daily loss limit, a cap on how much of your profit one day can be. This list orders futures firms by how forgiving their published rules are: the rules part of our score, out of 30, from 7 rules each tagged Easy, Standard or Read by a fixed threshold.

A rule the firm doesn’t publish scores nothing, so a firm can’t look forgiving by staying quiet. The table shows four of the seven: target ÷ loss, drawdown type, daily loss and consistency; open a row for all of them. Forgiving rules don’t make a firm cheap, so the score column and the cheapest list cover price.

Real cost: the fee × 3 (or 3 months on a monthly plan) plus activation. Per $1K: that cost per $1,000 of max loss. A “+” means the activation fee isn’t on record, so the figure is a floor. A dash means it isn’t in our data yet.

    Questions about this list

What is the best futures prop firm for beginners?
On published rules, Topstep: 19 of 30 rule points on its scored account (Trading Combine, $50K), the most forgiving set on our list. Alpha Futures and Funded Futures Family score the same.
What makes a prop firm’s rules forgiving?
We score 7 rules: target ÷ loss, consistency, daily loss, minimum days, news, overnight and drawdown type. Each is tagged Easy, Standard or Read by a fixed threshold and earns 2, 1 or 0 points, and the 14 points are scaled to 30.
    Which drawdown type is easiest?
A static drawdown, which stays where it starts. An end-of-day trailing drawdown rises with each day’s closing balance; an intraday trailing one follows your open profit during the day, so a winning trade you give back can still end the account.
Does a rule the firm doesn’t publish count as easy?
No. It scores 0, the same as a Read, so a firm can’t look forgiving by leaving rules out. A firm with more than 2 of the 7 rules unpublished isn’t ranked at all.
Are forgiving rules enough to pick a firm?
No. This list leaves price out, and a forgiving firm can still cost more to get funded. The real cost on the full futures list, or the cheapest list, covers that.
